I had the absolute pleasure of attending for a Boudoir photoshoot on 6th October and can honestly say nothing bad about the whole experience.
I knew after the very first telephone conversation with Jane that I was going to be looked after. Jane put my mind at ease from the first second with her positive attitude and general loveliness!
My hair and makeup on the day was done by the beautiful Kay and she did the absolute best job – Kay listened to my likes and dislikes and interpreted it perfectly.
The photoshoot itself was completely relaxed and flowed beautifully. Complete professionalism throughout.
On previewing the many pictures afterwards, I cried (happy, over the moon, ecstatic tears!) as I couldn’t believe that the confident, sexy, gorgeous woman I was seeing was me. I have lost 9.5 stone recently and although I am fitter and healthier than I have ever been, I still saw myself as the ‘overweight’ girl. This photoshoot has made me see myself as beautiful for the first time in a very long time. I will be forever grateful for that.
If you are contemplating booking yourself a boudoir shoot but are having doubts, please don’t! Get on the phone and book yourself immediately! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Boudoir Shoot – one word, WOW! Who on earth was that confident, happy woman looking back at me at the grand reveal at the end.

Jane was fantastic from my first enquiry – she helped me to decide on lingerie, create a board of photo ideas and helped me to calm my silly nerves before travelling to the studio.

Looking back, those nerves were ridiculous. I arrived and was greeted by a very friendly Jane. we sat down and discussed the format of the shoot and looked at the sets I had brought with me. Sammy, the photographer, came and met me and talked through the photos that I liked.

Then, it was on to hair and make-up with Kay who was fab, she is so knowledgeable and talented with both hair and makeup. Kay gave me some tips on make-up application, which was a lovely added bonus.

Time to get into my shoot lingerie – Jane was fab, she helped me get ready and then took me through to the studio. Kay remained at the shoot helping me to get into the correct poses and checking my hair and make-up was looking fab throughout.

Once the shoot, which lasted a good couple of hours, was finished, I was offered a cup of tea and got myself changed. Within 20 minutes, Jane, Sammy and Kay were with me viewing my personalised video collage of all of the photos – literally couldn’t believe how amazing the pictures came out.

At the age of 41 and as a mum of 4 boys, I decided to do something girly and just for me, I have the same body insecurities as many women of my age and shape and I wanted to feel happier in my skin. I had the most wonderful day at my boudoir shoot with Sammy, his incredible wife Jane and their fantastic makeup and hair artist Kay.
The whole experience from Jane’s amazing communication pre-shoot to the welcoming atmosphere left me feeling comfortable enough to break down my barriers and love myself just as I am. Kay was so friendly and asked me about what my usual style for hair and makeup was and made every effort to ensure that I was comfortable and felt happy with how I looked. I felt like a million dollars!
Thanks to Sammy’s amazing direction and coaching I was astounded by my images and couldn’t believe it was me! He was so accommodating to a couple of bespoke ideas that I had to incorporate my snare drum and the flag of my favourite F1 team into my images and also attentive to the vision board Jane and I created pre-shoot. For any ladies (or gentlemen) looking for a fantastic, empowering experience, Sammy Southall Photography’s Only Boudoir is highly recommended!

Can’t thank Jane, Sammy and Kay enough. I’ve wanted to do a boudoir shoot for ages, but in your head, you’re that 30-year-old slim pretty thing, it’s only when you look in the mirror you find you’re not!….so you start to think, am I good enough? The mum tum! The scars and the list goes on! So tentatively I messaged Jane to enquire……Jane is like the long-lost friend that you haven’t seen in a while. Okkkay I thought what’s this woman on, I need some! She is lovely! And puts you straight at ease.
So after only a matter of weeks of messages, buying the outfits, discussing how the photos are going to go etc and putting you so at ease…it is not just walk in taking a few photos and goodbye!
It’s a date day of pampering! Discussing outfits and hair, and makeup which I might add is an experience in itself, fabulous! I was totally pampered and indulged and I even learnt some makeup tips ….you’re never to old! Kay is a professional and totally knows her stuff!
Sammy is passionate about getting the photos right, the light the position of your body his enthusiasm is great! I was so engrossed I forgot my tummy fat legs etc etc I could go on!
Then comes the slideshow of looking at the photos ……powerful! Empowering, I was not expecting to feel so bloody amazing! In fact, I sobbed I saw me and my gorgeous hubby as the camera saw us
I/ we highly recommend, just an all-around feel-good factor….don’t think do it!!
